“GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY SON.” — JOHN 3:16
A teenager crashes his father’s car into a wall and sits in the dark, the engine smoking, afraid to call home. He knows his father will come and that’s what scares him most. An hour later, headlights appear. His father walks over, opens the door, and says, “I’m not here to shout. I’m here to take you home.”
The apostles are thrown into prison for preaching, but an angel opens the doors and tells them to go back and speak. They obey. The authorities are furious, yet powerless—God’s light keeps breaking through. Jesus speaks the most famous words: God so loved the world that he gave his only Son—not to condemn, but to save. Yet the tragedy remains: light came into the world, and people chose darkness, because the light reveals what we try to hide. Like the teenager sitting in the dark, we avoid being seen. But Jesus does not come to shame us—He comes to bring us home. The Psalmist says, “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” So stop hiding. The headlights are already on the road. He is not coming to shout. He is coming to take you home. Come into the light.
