Faith in the Hidden Places

“The servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater” – John 13:16

A woman works alongside a quiet colleague for years. He never seeks recognition or complains. When he retires, the company discovers he secretly funded scholarships for employees’ children. Everyone is stunned. “Why didn’t you tell us?” they ask. He replies, “No one ever asked. You just saw me as the man at the next desk.”

Jesus is recognised, yet not received. Familiarity becomes a barrier; those who knew Him best struggle to believe (Matthew 13:57). They see the carpenter’s son, but not the Son of God. In the same way, God’s presence can be hidden within what feels ordinary. Joseph lived this hidden life—no public miracles, no recognition, yet entrusted with raising Christ. His greatness was not in visibility, but in quiet obedience. Like the unnoticed colleague, what is most meaningful is often unseen. God works through the ordinary, shaping lives in ways others may never fully recognise. Today, if your life feels small or overlooked, do not dismiss it. God is present in the hidden places. What is done in love, even quietly, carries eternal weight.

A Journey of Reflection and Action
Take a quiet moment to reflect on the hidden areas of your life, write down where you feel unseen, meditate on God’s presence in the ordinary, offer your daily actions to Him in prayer, and gently encourage someone else who may feel overlooked.

Join Us in Prayer
Lord Jesus, You see what is hidden and value what is done in love; help us to remain faithful in the ordinary, to trust that our quiet obedience matters, and to live each day for Your glory alone. Amen.
