Drawn by Grace

“NO ONE CAN COME TO ME UNLESS THE FATHER WHO SENT ME DRAWS HIM.” – JOHN 6:44

A man browsing in a bookstore picks up a book he never intended to read. Something about it holds his attention, so he sits and begins. As he reads, it speaks directly to the questions he hadn’t voiced aloud. He leaves with it, sensing that what felt like chance was something more intentional, guiding him there.

Jesus reveals that coming to Him is not an achievement but a response to grace (John 6:44). Like the man drawn to a book he did not plan to read, we often discover that what feels like a coincidence is God’s quiet invitation. In Acts, the Ethiopian eunuch searches the Scriptures but does not find understanding on his own—God sends Philip to meet him. The Spirit guides the encounter, turning confusion into faith and faith into joy. This is how God works: He draws, He sends, He reveals. Christ, the living bread, is given for the life of the world, not discovered by effort alone. Today, do not strive anxiously to find God. Be attentive instead. He is already drawing you—gently, personally, and faithfully toward Himself.
