Light in the Darkness

“I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes” – John 12:46

During a blackout, one home turns on a generator. Lights come on, and neighbours begin gathering outside, drawn by the brightness. Soon, extension cords are shared, and small lamps begin to glow in nearby homes. What started as one source of light quietly spreads, not by force, but by being available to others in need.

Jesus declares that He has come as light into the world, not to condemn, but to save (John 12:46). Light does not argue with darkness—it simply shines. Like the home that becomes a source of light during a blackout, faith is meant to be lived and shared. In Acts, the Church listens in prayer and fasting, and the Spirit sends Barnabas and Saul outward. Mission begins not with strategy, but with attentiveness to God’s voice. The Psalm echoes this outward movement: “Let all the nations praise you,” revealing that God’s light is meant for all. To believe in Christ is to step out of darkness and become a witness to His light. Today, remain close to Him. Let His truth shape your life—and allow His light to reach others through you.
