“I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” – John 10:10
A young boy gets separated from his family at a busy market. A kind stranger offers to help, but the boy runs away. Then he hears his father’s voice calling his name from across the square. He runs toward that voice. He knows it. He trusts it. The stranger could not give what his father could.
Jesus reveals Himself as the gate and the shepherd, the one who leads His people into life (John 10:10). His voice is not forced—it is recognised. Like the boy who runs toward his father’s voice, faith grows through familiarity and trust. In Acts, Peter’s preaching pierces hearts, and thousands respond, entering new life through repentance and baptism. Their journey begins by listening and responding. The Psalm reminds us, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want,” even in uncertainty and fear. Many voices compete for our attention, but not all lead to life. Christ alone gives what endures. Today, listen for His voice above the noise. He calls you by name. Follow Him—and you will discover the fullness of life He promises.
