You Must Be Born Again

“UNLESS ONE IS BORN AGAIN, HE CANNOT SEE THE KINGDOM OF GOD.” – JOHN 3:3

A caterpillar stays hidden in a cocoon for weeks, still and unseen. A child watching assumes it is gone forever. Then one morning, the shell opens. Something fragile emerges. Hours later, wings unfold and lift. What seemed like an ending was a beginning.

Nicodemus comes at night, searching but uncertain. Jesus does not offer advice for improvement; he speaks of transformation: “You must be born again.” This new birth is not human effort but divine life. Flesh remains flesh, but the Spirit gives something entirely new. Like the wind, the Spirit cannot be controlled or predicted, only received. The early believers understood this. Faced with threats, they did not rely on strength alone. They prayed, and the Spirit filled them with courage. Something shifted within them before it showed outwardly. Like the cocoon that must open in its own time, new life cannot be forced. Today, you may feel trapped in patterns that seem unchanging. But God is not asking you to fix yourself. He is offering you a new life. Surrender. Let the Spirit lead.

A Journey of Reflection and Action

Take time today to quietly reflect on areas where you feel stuck, journal honestly before God, meditate on His promise of new life, listen in prayer for the Spirit’s leading, and gently share this hope of transformation with someone who needs it.

Join Us in Prayer

Lord Jesus, I surrender my efforts and my striving to You. Breathe new life into my heart and transform what I cannot change on my own. Teach me to trust the work of Your Spirit and to walk in the new life You freely give. Amen.
