Turn Toward Christ

“WHEN YOU HAVE LIFTED UP THE SON OF MAN, THEN YOU WILL KNOW.” – JOHN 8:28

A man ignored a persistent health warning for months. The symptoms grew worse, but he avoided seeing a doctor, hoping it would pass. One day, the pain became unbearable, and he finally sought help. The diagnosis was clear, and treatment began immediately. What he had avoided facing was the very thing that could restore him.

In Numbers 21:4–9, the people suffer because of their sin, yet God provides a way to healing. They are asked to look at the very symbol of what harmed them, and in that act of trust, they are restored. Like the man who avoided facing his condition, we often turn away from what reveals our need for change. In John 8:21–30, Jesus speaks of being “lifted up,” pointing to the moment when His true identity will be revealed. It is in looking to Him, especially in His sacrifice, that we find life. Psalm 102 reminds us that God hears the cry of those who turn to Him. Today, do not avoid what God is showing you. Turn towards Christ with honesty. In Him, there is healing, truth, and new life.
