Seeking the Author: How to Truly Know God-John 17:3

“This is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God…”-John 17:3 –

A man spent years collecting rare books—his shelves were lined with prized editions. One afternoon, his young daughter looked up at him and asked, “Daddy, have you ever read any of them?” He froze. In that simple question, he saw the truth: he had been more focused on possessing books than experiencing them.

Like the man who owned a vast collection of books, eternal life isn’t about having religion—it’s about knowing the Author, God Himself. Jesus defines eternal life not as a distant heaven, but as knowing God intimately (John 17:3). It’s easy to confuse faith with rituals, knowledge, or service—but God desires your heart, awake to His presence. Eternal life begins now—not someday in heaven, but today in knowing Him. Seek His face, not just His hand; talk to Him not as a distant doctrine, but as your Father.

A Journey of Reflection and Action

Journal your thoughts and prayers, asking God to reveal Himself more fully to you. Share this message with a friend or small group, discussing how you can prioritize knowing God over religious routines. Finally, practice stillness—spend quiet moments in prayer, listening for God’s voice and resting in His presence.
