Standing Firm: Facing Persecution with Jesus-John 15:20

“‘If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also.’-John 15:20 -……

A basketball team gathers in the locker room before a big game. As the coach finishes his pep talk, the captain says, “Let’s pray.” One player scoffs, “Keep that stuff to yourself.” But as the captain prays, two teammates join him. The mocking player looks away, uncomfortable yet curious about this quiet courage….

Followers of Jesus will face opposition (John 15:18-21)—mocked for praying, standing for truth, or choosing faith over trends. Yet persecution plants seeds, as Paul’s obedience did in Acts 16:9. “Blessed are those persecuted for righteousness’ sake” (Matt. 5:10). When faith sets you apart, you’re not alone. Jesus walked this road and walks it with you. Trials aren’t strange—they’re a chance to share His courage (1 Pet. 4:12-13). Stand firm. What the world sees as shame, God turns to glory.
