I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.-John 16:33 –

A young woman sits alone at her kitchen table late at night, staring at a stack of unpaid bills. Her phone lights up with another missed call from a creditor. She takes a deep breath, closes her eyes, and whispers a prayer. In that moment, she feels an unshakable calm—not because the bills disappeared, but because she knows Jesus has overcome the world.

In John 16:33, Jesus doesn’t promise a trouble-free life; He promises peace in Him despite the trouble. The world presses in—financial stress, health scares, fractured relationships—but Christ has already won the ultimate victory. Like the woman at her table, we can face our struggles knowing they don’t have the final word. Jesus does. His peace isn’t an escape; it’s a fortress. Rest in Him today, for He has overcome, and in Him, so will you.
