“New wine is put into fresh wineskins.”
– Matthew 9:17 –

A grandma taught her granddaughter to bake using modern recipes, but the girl kept saying, ‘We always use your old cookbook!’ When their oven broke, they used a new convection oven—and found the old recipes tasted even better. It showed that traditions can grow and shine with new tools.”

Jesus’ parable of the wineskins calls us to courageous openness to God’s fresh, living work.
Like the disciples holding on to their fasting routines, we often cling to rituals that feel safe—even when God is inviting us to grow beyond them. Yet He declares, “Behold, I am doing a new thing” (Isaiah 43:19). God doesn’t abandon His truth; He renews it in us—inviting us to embody it in vibrant, Spirit-led ways.
Just as cherished recipes can be reimagined with new tools without losing their flavor, our spiritual lives can be refreshed without losing their roots.
Is God inviting you into something new? Don’t let outdated habits or old mindsets limit what He longs to pour into you.
Stretch. Trust. Receive. His new wine is ready.
