“IF ANYONE KEEPS MY WORD, HE WILL NEVER SEE DEATH.” – JOHN 8:51
A man carefully backed up all his important files on an old device he had trusted for years. One day, the device suddenly failed, and everything seemed lost. Later, he discovered that his data had already been synced to a secure cloud system. What he thought was gone had actually been preserved all along.
In John 8:51–59, Jesus speaks about a life that goes beyond what is seen and temporary. Like the man who feared everything was lost, people often measure life only by what they can see and control. Yet Jesus points to something deeper: “If anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.” This promise confused His listeners because they were thinking only in physical terms. But Christ speaks of a life anchored in God that cannot be taken away. In Genesis 17:3–9, God establishes a lasting covenant with Abraham, showing that His promises extend beyond generations. Psalm 105 reminds us that God remembers His covenant forever. Today, do not place your hope only in what fades. Hold on to Christ’s word. In Him, there is a life that endures beyond every loss.
