“We piped, and you did not dance” – Luke 7:32
At a friend’s wedding, the DJ played a mix of upbeat music. Most guests danced, but one small group sat in the corner, arms folded, unimpressed. Later, when slow music came on, they complained again—too boring. A guest whispered, “It’s not the music. They just don’t want to join in.” The real issue wasn’t the tune—it was the heart unwilling to respond.
Jesus said, “We piped, and you did not dance” (Luke 7:32), describing hearts resistant to both John’s call to repentance and His own call to grace. This image captures the struggle of those who hear God’s invitation but hesitate to respond. Yet Christ’s song of mercy continues to play for us today. Whether He calls you to repent and turn away from what weighs you down, or to rejoice in the freedom He brings, the invitation stands: drop your resistance and dance. True wisdom is recognising God’s voice amid life’s noise and responding in faith, even when it challenges us. Don’t miss the rhythm of grace—let your heart move fully with Christ’s loving invitation. Will you join the dance of grace today? Surrender your hesitation and step into the joyful freedom Jesus offers.

- Meditate on Luke 7:32 and ask: Am I willing to join the rhythm of grace today?
- Share with a trusted friend or group one area where God is calling you to respond.
- Pray for openness to hear His voice and courage to follow.
- Revisit your notes later this week—how has your heart shifted?
