Heaven Is Waiting for Your Attention

“You forgot your Bible at home, yet you never forgot to take your phone to church. You came to connect with God, but got distracted by notifications. You lift your phones higher than your hearts, scrolling through feeds while heaven waits for your attention. God’s Word isn’t found in the pixels — it’s in the pages and, even more important, in the posture of your heart.”

We live in an age where distraction has become devotion’s greatest rival. The glow of a screen now competes with the glory of God. Many walk into church holding their phones, yet leave without holding a word from Heaven. Notifications buzz louder than prayer, and scrolling feels easier than stillness.

But worship was never meant to be multitasked. God isn’t impressed by our attendance if our attention never arrives. When you open your phone instead of your heart, you exchange divine connection for digital noise. Heaven still speaks — but often, we’ve muted the frequency.

The Bible reminds us to “Be still and know that I am God.” Stillness is not about silence; it’s about surrender. It’s a posture that says, “Lord, You have my focus.” Your heart can’t receive what your mind keeps scrolling past. If you really came to meet God, put the phone down, look up, and listen — because His notifications don’t appear on your screen; they stir in your soul.

So next Sunday, carry your Bible like it’s oxygen and your phone like it’s optional. Heaven isn’t waiting for your swipe — it’s waiting for your surrender.

💭 Closing Thought:
God doesn’t compete for your attention; He patiently waits for your devotion.
