Gratitude That Gives Back

“Many others… ministered to Him out of their means” – Luke 8:3

A woman once bedridden by illness now walks each morning to volunteer at a local children’s clinic—the very place where she found healing years ago. She doesn’t just give her time; she brings food, helps with cleaning, and listens to worried mothers. When asked why, she smiles, “I was once on the receiving end of mercy. Now it’s my joy to give it forward.”

In Luke 8, we glimpse the presence of women who had been healed by Jesus—and who, in response, chose to walk with Him and support His mission from their own resources. “Many others… ministered to Him out of their means” (v.3) reminds us that love responds to grace with generosity. Their giving wasn’t payment—it was devotion. These women weren’t just spectators; they were part of Christ’s ministry, moved by gratitude to action. This challenges both passive discipleship and self-centred faith. True followers don’t just receive—they return, they pour out, they partner with Jesus in His mission. When we’ve truly encountered Christ, our hearts are stirred not only to follow, but to serve with joy. How are you giving back from what Christ has healed in you? Let gratitude shape your generosity today.
