“For he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.” – Luke 1:48

A market vendor watches her small stall survive beside giant stores. Day after day, loyal customers return, grateful for her kindness and fair prices. When business finally grows, she smiles quietly, knowing success did not come from power or pride but from faithfulness, patience, and serving others well in an

Both Hannah and Mary teach us how God works through humility and trust. Hannah offers back the very gift she longed for, recognizing that life itself belongs to God (1 Samuel 1:27). Mary’s song echoes this same truth: God lifts the lowly, fills the hungry, and overturns empty pride. In a world that celebrates self-promotion and control, today’s readings call us to surrender, gratitude, and obedience. God’s reign is revealed not through force, but through faithful hearts willing to say yes. As Christmas draws near to its fulfillment, allow God to work quietly within your ordinary choices and hidden sacrifices. Like them, our faith matures when we trust God with outcomes we cannot control. Take courage: the Lord sees your humility, and He will accomplish great things through it. Remain joyful, for His mercy is already at work.
