Faith That Carries to Christ

“When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, ‘Son, your sins are forgiven.’” – Mark 2:5

A locked community garden gate stood between a dedicated gardener and her new plot. The management office was closed. Undeterred, she and three neighbours found a tall, sturdy ladder in a shed. They carefully carried it together, leaned it against the high fence, and helped her climb over, tools and all, to begin her work on the other side.

Like the gardeners using a ladder to bypass a locked gate, the paralytic’s friends refused to let physical and social barriers stop them. Their determined, collective action—tearing through a roof—is the very faith Jesus sees and honours. He responds by addressing the root paralysis: sin. To the scandalised scribes, He proves His authority to forgive by commanding the man to walk, showing that divine healing restores from the inside out. Christ reveals God’s true visitation—authority to liberate us from sin’s ultimate paralysis. Today, be a friend who carries others to Christ in persistent prayer. Do not let obstacles deter you. And when faith brings you to Him, receive His deeper healing first, so you may rise and walk in His freedom.

A Journey of Reflection and Action

Today, take time for quiet reflection or journaling on how persistent, sacrificial love brings others to Christ; pray for those who are spiritually or physically burdened, ask God to give you courage to overcome obstacles with them, and then gently share His healing and mercy with someone in need.

Join Us in Prayer

Lord Jesus, strengthen my faith to persist in carrying others to You, help me never be deterred by barriers, and grant that when I come before You with trust, I may receive Your healing touch and walk freely in Your love, Amen.
