“‘I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.’-John 14:18 –

A boy’s parents had to travel for an important mission. A quiet sadness settled in, but he found solace in a treasured photo frame. Running his fingers over a picture of them all laughing together, he felt a comforting warmth, remembering shared moments and clinging to their promise: “We won’t leave you alone; we’ll be back.”

Just like the boy finding comfort in his parents’ promise, Christ’s Ascension, while a departure, is His profound assurance: “I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” He didn’t abandon us, but ascended to send the Holy Spirit and prepare for His glorious return. Like the disciples, we experience sorrow that turns to joy, living with unwavering hope. The Ascension reminds us He is not distant, but actively working through us, transforming our present challenges into future joy at His appearing. Embrace the comfort of His presence, for His return is certain, and your joy will be complete.
