Behold the Lamb Who Takes Away Sin

“Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” – John 1:29

At a construction site, a safety inspector pauses all work to fix one loose cable. Crews grow impatient, eager to continue building. Yet that small correction prevents future accidents and costly repairs. His quiet intervention doesn’t draw applause, but it removes hidden danger so the entire project can rise strong, stable, and safe for everyone involved.

Like the inspector who addresses the hidden flaw, John points to Christ as the one who comes to correct the foundational flaw in humanity: sin. This is not a cosmetic fix, but a deep, necessary intervention that halts our flawed efforts to secure our own salvation. Jesus, the Lamb, takes away the “sin of the world”—a singular, systemic corruption—so that God’s project of a redeemed people, foreseen by Isaiah as “a light to the nations” (Is 49:6), can be built securely. His sacrifice may seem like a pause or a scandal to the world, but it is the only way true, lasting life can be constructed. Today, behold the Lamb. Welcome this essential correction. Your stability and your future are secured not by your hurried work, but by His perfect, sin-removing intervention.
