“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” – John 10:11
A child learns to swim in the ocean. The current is strong, the water deep. But her father keeps one hand on her at all times. She kicks and splashes, afraid at first. Then she realises: as long as he holds her, she cannot drown. She stops fighting the water and begins trusting his grip.
Jesus responds to doubt not with argument, but with assurance: “I know them… and no one will snatch them out of my hand” (John 10:28). Like the child who learns to trust her father’s grip, faith grows when we realise we are held, not merely holding on. The crowd struggles to believe, but Jesus points to a deeper truth—belonging comes from relationship, not proof alone. In Acts, the scattered believers continue speaking, and Barnabas seeks out Saul, drawing him into a mission that will reach many. God’s work continues beyond fear and uncertainty. Even when we feel weak or unsure, Christ remains faithful. Today, do not measure your security by your strength. Listen for His voice. Follow Him. Rest in His grasp—because you are known, protected, and never beyond His reach.
