“PEACE BE WITH YOU.” – LUKE 24:36
A soldier returns from war, haunted by what he has seen. His family walks carefully around him, afraid of what might trigger him. One night, his daughter touches the scar on his arm and asks, “Does it still hurt?” He nods. She whispers, “Then you’re really here.”
The disciples hide behind locked doors, gripped by fear. Then Jesus stands among them and says, “Peace be with you.” Yet they doubt. So he shows them his hands and feet, inviting them to see and touch. He even eats before them. The resurrection is not distant—it is embodied, real, wounded. Like the child who needed the scar to believe her father was truly home, the disciples need to see the wounds. Peter now proclaims boldly: the Author of life was killed, but God raised him. Today, you may be carrying fear, hiding behind closed doors of uncertainty. But Christ does not wait for your confidence. He enters your fear and offers peace. Not by removing wounds, but by transforming them. Stay with him. Peace is here.
