When Truth Speaks

“NEVER HAS ANYONE SPOKEN LIKE THIS MAN!” – JOHN 7:46

During a team meeting, a junior staff member raised a concern everyone had quietly noticed but avoided addressing. The room fell silent. Some agreed, others dismissed him, and a few felt uncomfortable. The issue itself was not new, but speaking it aloud created tension. Truth had entered the room, and not everyone welcomed it.

In John 7:40–53, people respond to Jesus in very different ways. Some recognise Him, others doubt, and some reject Him completely. Like the meeting where one voice disrupted the silence, Jesus’ words reveal the truth that cannot be ignored. This division is not because truth is unclear, but because hearts respond differently. Jeremiah experienced something similar, as those around him plotted against him despite his faithfulness (Jeremiah 11:18–19). Standing for truth often brings opposition. Yet Psalm 7 reminds us that God sees the heart and judges justly. Today, when truth challenges you, do not turn away from it. Receive it with a sincere heart. Even when it is uncomfortable, God’s truth leads to clarity, growth, and life.
