“THIS IS MY BELOVED SON, WITH WHOM I AM WELL PLEASED; LISTEN TO HIM.” – MATTHEW 17:5
A young surgeon assists in her first major operation. The theatre is tense. She has studied for years, yet in the crucial moment, she waits for the lead consultant’s instruction. “Not yet… now.” One calm direction at the right time prevents serious damage. Skill matters, but listening matters more. Acting too quickly would have caused harm.
Abram was told to leave his country and go to a land God would show him (Genesis 12:1). He did not know every detail, yet he obeyed. In the Gospel, the disciples see Jesus in glory. For a brief moment they understand who He truly is. Then the Father’s voice speaks: “Hear him.” When the vision ends, only Jesus remains (Matthew 17:8). The message is simple. Listen to Him. Second Timothy reminds us that our calling rests on God’s grace, not our own ability. Psalm 33 assures us that the Lord watches over those who place their hope in Him. Lent teaches us not to rush ahead of God. Before decisions, before reactions, before fear takes over — listen. Christ’s voice brings clarity and life. Today, pause and pay attention to Him. His direction comes at the right time and leads safely forward.

Join Us in Prayer
Lord Jesus, we thank You for the clarity and life Your voice brings to our souls. Like the disciples on the mountain, help us to fix our eyes on You alone and grant us the patience to wait for Your perfect timing rather than rushing ahead in our own strength. May our hearts be ever attentive to Your direction, trusting that You lead us safely forward. Amen.
