“ASK, AND IT WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU; SEEK, AND YOU WILL FIND; KNOCK, AND IT WILL BE OPENED TO YOU.” – MATTHEW 7:7
A woman loses her job unexpectedly. Bills are due, and fear begins to grow. Instead of keeping quiet, she calls a trusted friend and explains her situation honestly. She does not pretend everything is fine. She asks for help. Her friend listens, encourages her, and helps her find new work. The turning point was not her strength, but her willingness to ask.
Queen Esther faced danger and had no human security. She turned directly to God and prayed, “I have no other helper but thee” (Esther C:25). Her courage came from trust. In the Gospel, Jesus tells us to ask, seek, and knock. He reminds us that our Father is not distant or cruel. If earthly parents know how to give good gifts, how much more will God give what is good to His children (Matthew 7:11). Sometimes we hesitate to pray because we feel unworthy or unsure. Yet Psalm 138 assures us that on the day we call, God answers. Lent teaches us to rely less on ourselves and more on Him. Today, bring your needs before God plainly and sincerely. Knock with confidence. Your Father hears you, and He will not give you a stone when you ask for bread.

Father in Heaven, teach me to ask with faith, seek with perseverance, and knock with confidence. Remove my fear and doubt. Help me trust that You are good and that You hear me when I call. Amen.
