Remembering God’s Faithfulness

“DO YOU NOT YET UNDERSTAND?” – MARK 8:21

A family constantly worries about money each month, despite having always managed to pay their bills. When a new expense appears, panic returns as if nothing good has happened before. One evening, they sit down and list every time a provision came through. Seeing it written changes their fear into steadier trust.

The disciples panic because they have only one loaf, forgetting the thousands Jesus has already fed (Mark 8:14–21). Like the anxious family who overlooks past provision, they let the present worry erase remembered grace. Jesus gently challenges them: “Have you forgotten? James reminds us that every good and perfect gift comes from above (James 1:17). God is not shifting or unreliable. When temptation comes, it often begins with doubt and forgetfulness. Psalm 94 assures us that the Lord does not abandon His people but instructs and steadies them. Faith grows when we remember what God has already done. Today, recall the ways He has provided for you before. Let memory strengthen trust. Do not let small shortages overshadow great faithfulness. God has not changed, and He will not begin now.
