Stretch Forth Your Hand in Trust

“Stretch forth your hand.” – Mark 3:5

A skilled archer meets a gifted student with a flawless stance, clear focus, and costly equipment. Yet, the student never lets an arrow fly, stuck by the fear of missing the mark. The archer says, “The power is not in holding the pose, but in letting go. The bow cannot send what you refuse to release.”

Like the student releasing the arrow, the man with the withered hand is told to attempt what feels impossible. His healing begins with the simple act of reaching out. This reveals a divine truth: faith awakens when we respond to Christ’s word. The Pharisees, meanwhile, are rigid in legalism, clinging to their rules so tightly they plot murder on the Sabbath. Jesus looks at them with sorrow for their hardened hearts. David knew real power came from yielding to the Lord, not trusting his own strength (1 Sam 17:47). Today, Christ sees where you feel stuck, holding onto control or fear. His command is your freedom: “Stretch forth your hand.” Healing starts not with strength, but with trust surrendered to Him. As you reach toward Christ, His power accomplishes what you cannot.
