“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” – John 1:14
A legendary general, famed for winning wars through distant strategy, once came to the front lines. He did not command from a hilltop, but stepped into the muddy trenches, sharing rations, cold, and danger with the lowest soldiers. His presence turned fear into courage; the distant idea of victory became a shared hope lived beside them.
As the year draws to a close, we are given the cornerstone of our faith: the eternal Creator entered His creation. The unapproachable light took on flesh and blood (John 1:1-5). This is the ultimate answer to all falsehood and fear—truth is not a distant concept, but a person who can be known, received, and followed (John 1:12). Like the general who shared the trench, Jesus didn’t send salvation from a safe distance. He entered our struggle, shared our nature, and now offers us His own life. In Him, God’s grace and truth are no longer just promises, but a shared experience. As you stand at the year’s threshold, let this truth renew you. The God of all history is with you. Carry this living hope into the new year, for from His fullness we have all received grace upon grace.

Eternal Father, on this final day of the year, we marvel anew at Your Word made flesh, dwelling among us full of grace and truth—Jesus entering our trenches of struggle to share His victorious life.
