When Silence Speaks

“Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.” – Matthew 21:27

A jealous ex tried to ruin her former partner’s new life—spreading rumours, sabotaging opportunities, even hiring others to discredit him online. Years of attacks followed. Then one night, his name trended worldwide: a song born from secret pain went viral. What was meant to bury him only revealed the light he was meant to shine.

Jesus faces leaders who question His authority, not out of curiosity, but out of fear of losing control. Their question is a trap, so He answers with silence that speaks louder than words. By asking about John’s baptism, Jesus exposes hearts more interested in reputation than truth. God’s authority does not bend to manipulation; it reveals what already lives within us. Like those who tried to discredit what they could not understand, opposition often becomes the very stage on which God’s purpose shines brighter. Truth does not need defending when it carries divine weight—it rises on its own. Advent invites us to examine our motives. Do we question Christ because we seek light, or because His authority threatens our comfort? The Lord still reveals Himself, not to win arguments, but to transform hearts willing to receive Him. Ask honestly. Listen humbly.

A Journey of Reflection and Action

Pause today to examine your own motives before God, bring honest questions into prayer, sit quietly with the Gospel passage, allow Christ to speak without forcing answers, and share this reflection with someone learning to trust God’s authority.

Join Us in Prayer

Lord Jesus, purify our hearts from fear, pride, and hidden resistance. Teach us to seek truth rather than control, and to listen humbly when You speak. Where Your authority challenges our comfort, grant us grace to surrender and be transformed. Amen.
