“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” – Luke 21:33
A grandmother gave her granddaughter a simple wooden music box. Over the years, the girl’s life changed—new cities, shifting careers, seasons of laughter and loss. Yet through it all, the music box stayed on her dresser. Whenever she opened it, the same gentle melody played, steady and unchanged.
Our lives are a story of constant change—relationships evolve, careers shift, health falters, and the world trembles in uncertainty. Yet in the midst of this flux, the words of Jesus are the music box on the dresser. They do not bend with the trends of the age or the weight of our circumstances. His promises of mercy, His call to love, His assurance of eternal life—these form the unchanging melody that plays steady and true when everything else feels uncertain. Scripture is not a relic of the past but the living Word of God, offering truth and comfort no world can replace. While heaven and earth will pass away, His words—the very expression of His faithful character—endure forever. We are invited to return daily to this melody, finding our anchor in the One who is the same yesterday, today, and forever—the song that never ends.
