“Seek to save your life, and you shall lose it; lose your life, and you shall preserve it.” – Luke 17:33
A family spent weeks preparing a garden party, arranging every detail perfectly. On the morning of the event, a sudden storm threatened to ruin it. Letting go of their flawless vision, they welcomed guests into their imperfect home. In surrendering their dream, they discovered something better: authentic joy and deeper connection in the shared, unplanned moment.
Jesus warns that the coming of the Son of Man will be sudden, like the days of Noah and Lot (Luke 17:26–30). People are often absorbed in daily routines, possessions, and comfort, yet the moment of revelation demands detachment, vigilance, and spiritual readiness. Like the family whose garden party was disrupted, our carefully laid plans and attachments can be swept away in an instant, exposing what is truly essential. Wisdom 13:1–9 and Psalms 19 remind us that God’s glory is evident in creation, but merely observing is not enough; knowing Him requires attentive faith, trust, and obedience. True life comes when we surrender the temporary, release control over earthly things, and embrace God’s eternal purposes. Stand alert, live faithfully, and place your hope fully in God, so that when the Son of Man comes, you are found ready, secure, and aligned with what truly endures.
