Why Wasn’t I Born Rich?

Earthly riches are not the proof of divine favor.

Many of us grow up asking, “Why wasn’t I born rich?” We live in a world that often equates success and happiness with material wealth, but the truth is much deeper than that. Christ Himself was born in a manger, yet He carried the wealth of heaven within Him. The question we need to ask is not “Why wasn’t I born rich?” but “What is my true wealth?”

God’s design for our lives is not focused on what we possess but on who we are in Him. He entrusts each person with a different grace—some with material wealth, others with purpose and spiritual riches that transform lives. True riches are not measured by earthly possessions but by knowing Christ, who makes the poor in spirit heirs of the Kingdom.

The Power of True Riches

It’s easy to fall into the trap of measuring success by what we own or how much we accumulate. Yet, God’s view of wealth is completely different. True riches come from knowing Christ and understanding the purpose He has placed in our lives. Whether we are rich in material possessions or not, in Christ, we are all heirs of the Kingdom, and that is the greatest treasure we can possess.

God’s design is about transformation—not the accumulation of wealth. He shapes us with grace, purpose, and a deep calling that transcends what we see in the material world. The richness that comes from knowing Christ is eternal, and it can never be taken away.
