“WHO IS THIS OF WHOM I HEAR SUCH THINGS?” – LUKE 9:9
A CEO, surrounded by luxury, scrolls past headlines about a humble teacher feeding the hungry and healing the sick. Curious but dismissive, he mutters, “Who is this guy?” Days later, alone in his penthouse, he finds himself searching—first online, then in books, then in quiet corners where the teacher’s presence still lingers.
Herod’s world was one of power and spectacle, yet whispers of Jesus unsettled him. Despite executing John the Baptist, Herod couldn’t ignore this new figure stirring the crowds. “Who is this?” was not just a political concern—it was a spiritual disturbance. In today’s world of comfort, influence, and information, Christ still confronts us in unexpected ways. He doesn’t demand attention with wealth or status, but His compassion, truth, and sacrifice still pierce the human heart. Some are intrigued by Herod or the CEO. But Jesus doesn’t just call for observation. He calls for an encounter. And when we truly seek, we find that He’s been reaching for us all along. Let your curiosity lead you closer. “Taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8). Jesus is not just talked about—He can be known.
